Hey have you ever thought of using the gathered ideas for making a stand alone game? You could do a kickstarter to get funding for programmers. I would buy a stand alone version of Wilderness Survival no question. It could be advertised as a new MOBA. Just a thought.
I've thought about it many times, I planned on it, I've even tried getting involved with several different engines. The amount of work is just too much to handle for me alone.
Programmers are difficult to come by, most great programmers work for big corporations that are probably already making top dollar. To find someone as such would be pure luck.
There is such a thing as freelancers that you can invest money in but you need to be cautious and think carefully about who you hire.
I would rather hire someone & keep that person as a part of the team so that future updates can be brought in. Freelancers are usually temporary workers, which means that if you hire a new one months later, the new programmer would then have to learn the current code on where it left off, which can be very time consuming.
The other thing is, if I started a kickstarter & people donated that money to start it, what happens if I can't find the right people for the task? It can create a bad reputation for yourself if you have no idea what you're doing. I'm just the average human being that was able to put something together creatively with basic materials.
1. Fix the body disappearing from the pet bug? I can imagine making my pet carry my buddy's body but not my backpack.
2. Add a trigger or smth to remove a leaver's units (aka the shade) or to leave them in their teammates' control. It's kinda annoying especially in the early game when someone leaves suddenly your things are shrouded by the shade of a leaver.
Hopefully its OK to post this here, I found a few bugs I think. The claws from the wolf leaders say they can stack but they can't. When the game ends while solo, you can only quit by exiting warcraft. Not really sure if this is a bug, but Bigfoot can be killed extremely quickly and gives you the best weapon in the game. The brew fire grants temporary ethereal status while setting up so you can dodge attacks and gives unlimited heat so you don't even need apparel to roam the wilderness. You can tame several pets if you just put them in different backpacks. Switching packs then revives all your animals. If you tame a tiger and die, sometimes the tiger turns into 2 tigers.
I think my favorite version was 4.6. Ive really only played with up to 4 players so my input might not be helpful, but it felt like there was a lot more to do in that one. Definitely more attack options, like the explosive crossbow. 4.9 is interesting, but right now I can beat Bigfoot and become essentially unkillable in about 10 minutes. Once that happens I dont really know what else to do. But again that is probably because I don't have other players to kill.
Claw special (stacking) is incompatible due to the stacking system in general. It wont allow it so for now it's just a basic weapon, I'll go ahead & correct the tool-tip so that it doesn't say it can stack. ||||| Bigfoot I have future plans for as he is fairly easy to kill ||||| Fire Brew does cost -30% fire fuel & has a cool-down, it also provides less heat so it's not as good as a bonfire ||||| I added in the taming fixes so we shouldn't see those as a issue anymore.
Crossbow will eventually be back into the game, it has new explosive mechanics, I'm just re-tweaking other stuff right now before I move forward.
Objectively there isn't much to do in solo once you hunt down big foot (a problem I have as well when I'm just flying solo) I've been trying to think of other ways to keep the player interested, I know signal fires people have been asking for again so that is something I could do.
As far as everything else like more to do, I'm working on it, I'm just not going to rush it because I can't allow there to be gaps like [4.7] had & became very unstable/broken version.
In time there will be some more stuff to do, the full on experience is achieved with more players. Although if you have any more suggestions objectively on what to do solo feel free to suggest (Just not dragons).
All in all your wilderness survival is my favorite one. Even single player I like looking around for the secrets. Ive found most of them. Haven't seen the pipe or the chainsaw yet, and I doubt I'll see the secret tophat command lol.
As for the claws, maybe have them be able to be dual wielded with the elder wolf taming? Or you could dual wield, craft into a single upgraded version and dual wield both upgraded versions using all 4 of the claws.
